Retail Fuel
After months of dedicated approach to provide for the much appraised BP card integration, Scanning Systems Australia (SSA) have been given the go ahead to provide integration to their advanced POS system Profit Track. This has been a major stumbling block for both SSA and BP/Reliance operators with it being a crucial decision breaker over the latter half of last year.
And those that have proceeded with new POS systems have done so on the back of the superb system that SSA provides to the fuel industry. But these operators have had to bite the bullet and run independent terminals to manage the BP Card transactions. They have also been consistent with their support to have BP Card integrated and have assisted in its eventual approval by voicing their desires through appropriate channels.
It should be noted that BP has valid internal reasons for restricting the integration development, and this has had nothing to do with SSA. In looking to secure tighter control of the BP card system , it has been understandable that BP does not provide cart blanche access to a core product option, an option that co-exists prominently in the fuel retail landscape.
And it seems that this very reason is why SSA have been given the green light for the green card. Running strong developments for XPOS and more recently EPAY, the approval was assisted by the swift and effective integration of Profit track with Quest eftpos systems, all of which supports SSA’s strong in-house development capabilities.
SSA has acknowledged the significance of this approval and is now on track to provide this facility to BP and Reliance fuel sites early in 2010.
