About Support Desk Professional Position
As a software developer and marketing organisation, the primary function of SSA is to develop world-class software for specific retail applications in Point of Sale, and to market, install, and support the packages to a client base throughout Australasia.
SSA operates a help desk to assist end-users of the Profit Track application packages marketed by the company. This frequently involves diagnosis of problems with hardware and issues relating to the windows-based operating system, as well as the application software.
Profit Track is recognized as one of the leading retail stock management and Point of Sale packages for the Australian supermarket and petroleum industries.
The primary area of responsibility is support for customers throughout Australia and some International sites, providing assistance in the operation of back office stock management and Point of Sale systems. A knowledge of business procedures in a retail store environment is essential.
The absolute pre-requisites for the position include:
- Competency with Microsoft Windows OS, including Windows 2000, XP
- High level of verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to empathise with computer users in perplexing situations
